FAMILY : JANIRIDAE
Iais californica
(Richardson, 1904)
These
small Isopods (2mm max) are a commensal species
belonging
to
the
Asellota, probably Iais californica (Richardson, 1904). Many were
found under
some individuals of Sphaeroma quoianum where they scavenge food
particles from
the filter-brushes of their host and from the burrows.
