FAMILY : HETERALEPADIDAE
Heteralepas cornuta (Darwin, 1842)?

These barnacles were found on a large branch of Black Coral (Antipatharia) that was cast up
into the rock pools from deeper water. The Heteralepadids are often called "naked" barnacles,
due to the absence of capitular plates. They have a peduncle (stalk) but it is not distinct
from the capitulum (head).
